Charles E. “Charlie” Calame, 66, of Valley City passed away peacefully surrounded by his children on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, following a bout with cancer.
Charlie was born on November 20, 1956 in Medina, Ohio to the late Charles and Zelda (nee Johnson) Calame. He grew up on the family farm in Weymouth and was a 1974 graduate of Medina High School.
Throughout his life, he worked with concrete, HVAC and industrial maintenance.
Charlie was a collector of farm toy tractors and enjoyed taking his family to the airshows in Cleveland to view the planes (especially the fighter jets), but had no desire to ever fly in a commercial plane. He also loved playing with toy rockets and shooting them off.
Charlie is survived by his children, Charles (Danina) Calame, David Calame and Holly (Nick) Arra. Grandchildren, Scott Pitman, Dez Calame, Addie Calame, Michael, Matthew, Nellie and Ava Arra.
Brother- Howard (Janice) Calame and sister Joy Simmons, and Uncle to many.
Following Charlie’s wishes, there will be no service and cremation has taken place.
