Carol Mae (Hadsell) Mezurek

Carol Mae (Hadsell) Mezurek, 80, of Belden, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday, October 14, 2022.

Carol was born December 26, 1941, in Elyria to Sadie (Willis) Brubaker and Francis Brubaker, then adopted by Pete Hadsell.  She moved to Grafton from Elyria in the 50’s and has been a resident of Belden since 1972.  Carol was a 1960 graduate of Midview High School, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Carl Joel Mezurek.

Together they raised four children, Kelly Mezurek (Doug), Lisa Gott (Jeff), Stan Mezurek (Dawne) and Kenneth D. Mezurek (Dianna). She was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Also survived by 2 brothers, Gary Brubaker and Gregg Hadsell, one sister, Pam Hadsell Andress (James), sisters-in-law Dianne Gott (Ned), Judye Mezurek (Kenneth S.)  and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her father Francis Brubaker, her parents Pete and Sadie Hadsell, her beloved husband of 41 years, Carl J. Mezurek, sisters, Judith Brubaker Whitaker and Jill Hadsell Schroeder and brother-in-law Kenneth S. Mezurek.

Carol lived life simply and practically and enjoyed the peace and privacy provided to her by her residence on the family farm in Belden.  Through her final days, she was regarded as a woman of strength and fierce independence.

Per her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will be at the Belden Cemetery with a private gathering of immediate family only.
