Bruce David Parish

Bruce D. Parish, 82, Medina, Ohio died peacefully, on Friday, September 24, 2021.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 62 years, Karen (Steingass) Parish, children David B. (Janie Wolf) Parish, Stephanie Parish (Jay Rife), Jason (Holly Butler) Parish, grandchildren, Nicole (James) Sorgi, Amanda Smith, Jessica Butler, Angelica Parish, Hayley Butler, Olivia Butler, Victoria Parish, Kimberly R. (Anthony) Laurene and Lori Smith.

Great grandchildren, Scott, Paige, Connor and Weston. He is survived by his siblings Joyce (David) Hyde and Jane Garrett (Corwin deceased) and a sister-in-law Judy Parish.  He was preceded in death by his brother Richard and a sister Kay Beckworth.

Bruce was a well-known attorney in Medina for over 36 years.  He represented many individuals at their most vulnerable. With the heart of a warrior and mind of a mentor, he was well respected by clients and opposing counsel alike.

After retiring from the practice of law, he continued to dedicate his life to mentoring and teaching others in his many pursuits.

Bruce was a holiday baker of nut rolls and pies for family and friends.  He was a talented furniture maker, with a love of cherry wood.  He built many treasured works of furniture for his family and baptismal chests for his church family.

Bruce was a very active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Valley City, holding various offices.  He was dedicated to seeing through to completion several major projects at the church.  Bruce was proud of the work on the pews and woodwork, the restoration of the stain glass windows, the resetting and cleaning of the headstones in the church cemetery, and the renovation and updating of the pipe organ.

Family and friends are invited to the Funeral Service for Bruce, 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Zion Lutheran Church, 2233 Abbeyville Road Valley City, OH.  Pastor Jim Watson, officiating.

Burial- Zion Church Cemetery immediately following service. All are invited for lunch and a celebration of life in the church gathering area after the burial.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
