Beverly Alice (Guthman) Whitesel

Beverly A. Whitesel, 75, of Valley City passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, October 14, 2021.

Beverly was born October 6, 1946 in Elyria, Ohio to the late Roland Guthman and Manoka (Duelley) Guthman-Zwiezinski. She grew up in North Ridgeville and lived in Lorain County until 1977 when she and her husband moved to Valley City.
Beverly was a school bus driver for the Buckeye Local Schools for 32 years.  She was a member of the Lorain County Kennel Club and very active in showing dogs and obedience training. Beverly had been a breeder of Doberman Pincher, Shetland Sheepdog and King Charles Cavalier dogs, and she had served as 4-H leader teaching children dog obedience training.

Beverly was a self-taught artist in pencil and oil painting. She enjoyed painting on unique items like wood, carousel horses and glassware. With her great mind for business and creativity she would sell her horses at local shops and craft shows.

She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Gina L. and Kim N., grandchildren, Tia, Joshua, Robin, John, Amber and Kristen, great grandmother of six, and sister of Regina T. and Gary Z.

Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved husband Kenneth in August of 2020.

Family and friends are invited to Bev’s Committal Service, 2:00 PM, Friday, October 22, 2021 at Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery, Seville, OH where she will be laid to rest with her husband Kenneth.
