Arlene Eunice (Hall) Szekeres

Arlene Eunice (nee Hall) Szekeres, 96, of Valley City, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021, after a period of declining health.  Born in Cleveland on July 19, 1924, the daughter of Virgil and Alvira (Strasser) Hall, she was the sister of Phyllis (Hall) (Jenkins) Hess and Virgil (Shirley) Hall, all deceased.

On December 9, 1943, she was married to her beloved husband, John Mihaly Szekeres.  They were married for 68 years at the time of his death in 2011.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Sally Connelley (late Judson) of Palmetto, Fla; Marcia Hart (Terry) of Valley City; Jill Wendorff (Daniel) of Upper Arlington, Ohio; son-in-law Henry Buczak (late Susan) of Parma. A devoted grandmother to Andrea (Buczak) Phillips (Gary) of Brunswick; Doug Buczak of Parma; Amanda Wendorff of Longmont, Colorado; Elizabeth (Wendorff) Siedler (James) of Brunswick; and Daniel Wendoff of San Antonio, Texas; and four wonderful great-grandchildren.

Arlene and John will be laid to rest together at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on a date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions may be made in Arlene’s memory to the charity of your choice.
