Robert J Huttinger

Robert J. Huttinger, 89, of Valley City, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 19, 2019.

Bob was born on April 3, 1930 in Valley City to the late Edgar and Catherine (nee Grabenstetter) Huttinger.  He was a lifelong resident of Valley City and a graduate of Liverpool High School. Bob was a faithful an active member of St. Martin of Tours, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.

Bob had worked as a finishing carpenter for Ken Cleveland Builders and retired from American Greetings, where he worked in the carpentry shop. He has been well noted for his marvelous woodworking abilities. He took pride in the fact that he built the homes of his 3 children, along with many others he built and remodeled.  Bob ‘s work will be treasured by many friends and family members.

He will be greatly missed by his children, Michael (Sally) Huttinger of Wooster, Sue (John) Millward, Valley City and Steve (Karrie) Huttinger of Litchfield. Grandchildren, Zachary (Katie) Huttinger, Ryan (Heather) Huttinger and Allyson Huttinger, Matthew and Michael Millward; Nicholas and Kyle Huttinger. Brother- William Huttinger.

Preceded in death by his wife Doris, 2015, grandson, Kevin Huttinger and brother James Huttinger.

Visitation 5:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, October 24, 2019 in the Gathering area of St. Martin of Tours, 1800 Station Road Valley City, also from 10:00-11:00 AM Friday, October 25, 2019 prior to the Funeral Mass at 11:00AM.

Burial in St. Martin Church Cemetery.

In lieu of Flowers the family suggested memorials may be made to the St. Martin Building Fund or Hospice of Medina County.
