Leola M. Higham

Leola M. Higham, 89, of Medina, Ohio passed away October 13, 2018. Leola was born on December 24, 1928 in Valley City to the late Charles Sherman and Gladys (nee Stoskopf) Barnes. She had been a lifelong Medina County resident. Leola was a member of the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Valley City. She enjoyed gardening and traveling. Leola's hobbies included crocheting, making rag rugs and bingo. The love of her life was her family, especially the grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her children Leanne Treadway, of Canton, Ray. Jr. (Marsha) of FL, Dianne Maringer (John) of Berea, Karen Ladan of FL, David, of FL, Danny of Medina and Gina Joyce of FL., 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and one on the way. Preceded in death by her husband- Raymond, Sr., daughter- Laura Smith, brother- Leland Barnes and sister Wanda Mae Rodgers. Family and friends are invited to calling hours- Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 4:00-6:00 PM at the Bauer Funeral Home 2089 Columbia Road Valley City, where a service will be held at 6:00 PM with Rev. Bert Ambrose, officiating. Following Leola's wishes, cremation will take place after the services. Interment of Leola and Raymond, Sr. will take place at a later date in Myrtle Hill Cemetery, Valley City.
