Kathryn E. Funk

It is with broken hearts we say goodbye during this unexpected loss of our beautiful daughter, Kathryn E. “Katie” Funk, on Tuesday, December 17, 2019

Katie was born in Medina, Ohio on July 14, 1995 to Timothy and Bonny (nee Mellert) Funk. She has resided in Medina County all her life.

Katie was a 2013 graduate of Cloverleaf High School. She was working on her college degree at Cuyahoga Community College. She also loved

working as a receptionist at Profile by Sanford in Medina.

Katie had a heart as big as gold and a smile that would light up any room. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten by her family and friends.

She is survived by her parents, Tim and Bonny, Paternal grandparents, Larry R. and Susan E. Funk, aunts and uncles, Barbara (Ed) Mewhinney, Beth Mellert, Jimmy Funk and Michelle Rhine; cousins, Joshua (Taylor) Mewhinney, Kara Mewhinney, Colton and Conner Rhine.  Katie will be dearly missed by her beloved cat, Ophelia.

Awaiting Katie in heaven are her maternal grandparents, Louis F. and Ellen “Arlene “Mellert and beloved her brother Michael.

Funeral Mass- 10AM, Saturday, December 21, 2019 at St. Martin of Tours Chapel, 1800 Station Road, Valley City.

Calling hours- 4:00-8:00 PM Friday, December 20, 2019 at the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road Valley City.

Burial will follow at York Township Cemetery, Mallet Creek, OH.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the family to help with final expenses.
