Andrew C. Steppenbacker, Jr. age 65, passed away on August 17, 2019 with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife Kathie (nee Kloos), their children, Kimberly and Paul, and their families; Emily Kloos, Josh Troche, and Breanna and Madyson Olge. He is also survived by his brothers, Charles Glass and Dave, Ron, and Dana Steppenbacker, was an uncle and brother-in-law to many, and had a special kinship with cousins Bill and Gloria Beiter. Andy was a hard-working and generous man known for his honesty, sense of humor, and wit. Most of all, his fun-loving character, sense of adventure, and talent for spirited story-telling made him a much loved "Uncle Andy". He had a profound respect for nature and was most fond of being outdoors as an avid fisherman, hunter and hiker, often accompanied by the beautiful walking sticks he created. He also enjoyed baseball, reading, painting, expressively singing along to his favorite music and playing the Native American flute. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlotte and Andrew, Sr., brother George Steppenbacker, sister Juanita Hargis and brothers Tommy, Bill and Don Glass, and by his beloved niece, Dawn Kloos. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by a service at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the Bauer Funeral Home 2089 Columbia Road Valley City, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the National Park Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
