Warren G. Dunkle, age 87, of Medina, OH passed away Monday, April 6, 2009 in Medina, OH.
He was born in Cleveland, OH on May 21, 1921 to Harley and Nellie Dunkle. Warren has been a Medina County resident for over 50 years. He was a former Liverpool Township Zoning Inspector, member of the Valley City Fire Department and past President. Warren had been active in the Buckeye Boosters and was a past President of the Little League when his children were in school. Warren served 3 ˝ years in the United States Army. He was owner/operator of Uncle Dunkle’s Hardware in Valley City back in the early 1960’s. Warren had worked at General Motors, of Brook Park and GM Truck & Coach of Cleveland. Lastly, he retired as a diesel mechanic teacher at Lorain County JVS. Warren enjoyed flying radio controlled planes, gardening and woodworking.
Survived by his wife- Catherine “Kay” married 60 years. Children- Loreen (Fred) Rote, of Aurora, OH; Tim (Wendy), of Medina, OH, Dennis, of Litchfield, OH, Jane Guseman, of Strongsville, OH, Jack (Debbie) of CA and Tom (Carol) of Vermilion, OH. Grandchildren- Kyle & Brad Rote, Ben & Elizabeth & Kasi Dunkle, Ryan & Amanda Guseman, Brett Manning and Michele Savell. Step great grandchildren- Ashley and Cooper Savell. Many nieces and nephews.
Sister-in-laws- Ruth Wise, of Sebring, OH & Rita (Larry) Taddie, of Parma, OH Brother-in-law- Jack (Caroline) Bernard, of Fla.
Preceded in death by his parents, brother- Maynard Dunkle and brother-in-law Don Wise.
Funeral Service: Thursday, 1:00 p.m. at the Bauer Funeral Home 2089 Columbia Road Valley City, OH Rev.Thomas Dunphy, officiating.
Calling hours- Weds. 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial; Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH.
