Dorothy E. Krafft, age 96, of Medina, Ohio went onto her heavenly home Thursday, September 24, 2009.
She was born in Lafayette Township, Ohio on October 19, 1912 to Fred and Lodemia Voorhees. Dorothy has been a lifelong resident of Medina County. She worked for the former Longview Farms, Brunswick Township as a government egg grader for over 40 years. Dorothy was a member of the Brunswick United Methodist Church; Medina Rebekkah Lodge; and Past President of the Medina Eagles Auxiliary. She loved to play cards and dominos with her great grandchildren.
In July of 2005 when the Chidsey Family had their 100th Reunion there were three members of that generation in attendance- Harold and Leonore Chidsey and Dorothy Chidsey (Krafft). Dorothy was the last member of this generation of Chidseys.
Survived by her children- Faye (Allen) McClellan, of Arlington Heights, IL; Lois (John) Misciagna, of Northfield, OH and Rita Chidsey, of Fort Myers, FL. Grandchildren- Scott (Lori) McClellan, Jeffrey (Carolyn) McClellan, Lisa (Kirk) Verhasselt, Keith (Wendi) McClellan, Michael (Pam) Misciagna, John, Mary & Susan Misciagna, Darryl (Cynthia) Chidsey and Terry (Julie) Chidsey.
Great Grandchildren- Joel, Erin, Kristen, Megan, Andrea, Wade, Grayden, James, Theresa (Eric), Tony (Jenny), Stephanie, Timothy, Tony (Katherine), Niki, Matthew, Joshua and Kyle Great great grandchildren- Bianca, Angelina, Colin and Katie 1 brother- Myron (Irene) Voorhees, of Medina, OH and many nieces and nephews
Preceded in death by her parents, first husband- Truman Chidsey; second husband- Carl Krafft, son- David Chidsey, granddaughter- Janit Misciagna, brothers- Earl and Donald Voorhees and a sister- Lois Brant.
Dorothy’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staffs of both the Medina Village Retirement Community and Hospice of Medina County for all their love and care given to their mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Funeral Service-Monday, 11:00 a.m. at the Bauer Funeral Home 2089 Columbia Road Valley City, OH Rev. Scott McClellan, a grandson will officiate Calling hours- Sunday 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home Burial- Westview Cemetery, Brunswick, OH
