Dorothy L. Strekely (nee Schuster), age 78, of York Township, Ohio passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Medina General Hospital. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 29, 1930 to Howard and Evelyn Schuster. She lived in Cleveland for many years prior to moving to York Township in 1964. While her children were in school Dorothy volunteered in the Buckeye School system, later served as Head Cook at the old York Elementary School for 20+ years. She was a member of the SNPJ Local #257 in Cleveland. Dorothy was a devoted homemaker, wife and mom. She enjoyed crocheting baby afghans, reading and gardening.
Survived by her children- Howard, Carole and Vicki all of York Township.
Preceded in death by her parents and her husband- Victor, 1983.
At Dorothy’s request, there will be NO visitation and cremation has taken place.
Graveside service- Friday, 10:30 a.m. at York Township Cemetery, Norwalk Road Mallet Creek, OH.
In lieu of flowers- Memorials are suggested to Medina Kids Care for the Medina County Home c/o Western Reserve Bank, P.O. Box 585 Medina, Ohio 44256.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Bauer Funeral Home 2089 Columbia Road Valley City, OH
